We are living in a modern industrial society, we 've got computers, robots and suphisticated machines. All of these play a critic part in our life.It's going to be very hard to live
without them or even impossible.
However , we don't have only benefits from the modernization. We\ve got to handle with complicated problems that resulted from the modernization. The pollution is the main problem .it affects our life, it makes us weaker than before and sick.
We breath polluted air and it can kill us. But most of the people don't pay attention to this important and scary fact.
Morever the modernization makes us depend on it.we feel that we need it and can't without it.We don't think about our grandparents that lived without it and had wealthy life.
For conclusion , we must remmember that maybe we feel good right now, but we can regret later. Regret because the enviorment lose it's streangth, beauty and active part in our life.

"The" is not required with "modernization" as we are talking about an abstract notion in general. It's the same with "pollution".
