Can you help me?

I have just started to write my thesis paper in 'Developing listening skills in young learners'. I would like to focus on the importance of using songs and rhymes in developing listening. But my teacher didn't like my research question that was ' when should we start developing listening skills and how we should start it?' She said it was too general.
Can you give me some ideas how to formulate my research question?
