TOPIC: People should follow the customs and traditions when they start to live in a new country. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is argued that immigrants need to access a new culture when living in a foreign country. While it may suit many people, I definitely accept that they should also keep their own traditional values besides following a different culture.

On the one hand, there are a variety of reasons why people should adapt themselves to new lifestyles if they want to start a new life in a foreign country. The first reason is that by getting used to a different customs and habits, immigrants can settle down their life in a rapid way. Living in a new environment is not as easy as it seems, so learning how native residents follow their daily routines as well as their cultural manners is so beneficial to new arrivers. The second reason I support this notion is that people can obtain a lot of real experience of traditional values and identity. It goes without saying that every nation has its own unique cultural values that should be shared by all human race, and it is useful for people to experience these traditions.

On the other hand, there are strong reasons that people should concern more about their own cultural conservation. Firstly, by keeping their own traditional values, people can show respect to heir ancestor for what they’ve contributed. For example, those young people should take pride in their origin and treasure their life they have today. Secondly, it is also a great opportunity to bring their own customs and habits commonly to the world. For instance, if they are Vietnamese, they can introduce the beauty of Vietnamese women through tunics and palm-leaf conical hats.

In brief, I believe that immigrants should follow a new tradition and culture in order to adapt to a different life as well as keep their own unique traditional values.
