Can you give me advice on how to make it better

Can you give me advice on how to make 2 sentences better?

#1 The flight was quick since I slept through it. The flight lasted an hour and a half.
#2 Finally my turn, I waited behind the white line for the customs agent to cue me over to the booth. I handed him my passport which prompted a couple of questions : “Why are you here miss?” and “How long are you staying?” He took my prints, a picture and asked me to kindly follow the agent he was pointing at.

Regards
