Can you give easiest way to use AS

Hi,

I am Noor , I came from Iraq. I 've been 2 years in in Boston. I have question about "AS ".
Is there a good way to practice "AS" I see it and hear people using alot and curious to learn how to say fluently.

You can use it before you say a reason.Example:I was late(1)(AS) I woke up late today.(2)
Now look at the sentence before (1).It says "I was late" This sentence kind of explains what happened to you.Now look at the sentence before (2).I woke up late today.This is the reason and before it you use the word "As".
