I was there for the fisrt time on October 1. It was an Film Club. We watched ’Remember the Titans’ movie. This film is about an American football team. One black and one white high school are closed and every students sent to same school. Then the problems began. The school has one football team and one black coach and one white coach. After the film we talked about the integration issues. There is some integration problem with minorities in Hungary. I think, it’s a well great problem in Hungary.
Next time I was there on October 8. It was an Film Club again. We watched the movie adaption of a literary classic, ’The last of the Mohicans’. This is my fathers favorit movie. This film is historical epic film during the French and Indian war. British and French troops do battle in colonial America. The romance between a British officer’s daughter and an independent man complecates the story. The movie was romantic, scary and interesting.
At third time I attended an Conversation Club on November 28. There were lot of students in this evening. We talked about the Thanksgiving, because Thanksgiving holiday is on in the United States. Thanksgiving is a holiday centered on sharing and gratefulness. We created a poster. Everybody wrote something on the poster. I wrote „I’m grateful for my new kidney”. I wrote this because I had a kidney transplant seven years ago. We talked even about what are traditional meal of Thanksgiving. But we knew just the turkey. We were spent a really good time together. My groupmates were friendly, lovely and helpful.
