The topic: why do people lie?

Do you know why people lie? One day, my little brother missed my mother’s mobile in the mall while we were shopping. He afraid to told her about that to not hit or scolded on him. When my mother asked about her phone, he answered that he didn’t know. After my little brother lied about my mother’s phone. I realized that people lied to protect ourselves. Most of the people lie to protect themselves and to protect other.

First of all, most of the people lie to protect themselves. One reason is to not lose respect. Adults have to lie in order to not lose respect and influence on other people. For example, if my father makes something wrong, he will not tell us to save her respect.After that my brother didn’t trust what my father told her and that leads to reducing the respect of my father. In addition, people want to lie to not lose love. The relationship between any partners depend on love and sometimes you have to lie in order to save this love. For instance, the mother to her daughter. When they were playing puzzles together, she lied about the winner intentionally because the daughter will hate her if she wins.

Besides the fact that most of the people lie to protect other, they are also lied to protect other. One reason is to don’t hurt their feeling. For example, two days ago, my friend sent to me a picture of her dress and she asked me if I like it and surely I didn’t want to hurt her feeling, so l said it’s very beautiful. Also, if the person sensitive, you have to lie to maintain his feeling. The second reason is to protect them from harm. For example, I lied to my friend's father because he knew that she has a boyfriend but I told her that she hasn’t to protect her from her father hit. Also, when the mother protect her children from their father if they made mistakes in order to not harm them.

To conclude, there are really good reasons to confirm that people have to lie. People have to lie to protect themselves and to protect other. I think lying sometimes help us to exit from the hard situation. However, I will not choose to lie if I can.
