"Some people are fascinated by the idea of setting a world record. Their biggest goal in life is to make it to The Guiness Book of Records. One such man is Tom Woodbridge, who is known as the Leopard Man of Skye. Tom was once in the Guiness Book of Records as the world's most tattooed man.
This eccentric man is now 70 but he still stands out from others with the tattoos covering 90% of his skin in a leopard-like pattern, including his eyelids. He says he chose leopard spots because they were easy for a tattoo artist to do.
After getting his body tattooed, Tom changed his surname to 'Leppard'. He fled society and until 2008, lived a solitary life in a remote part of the Isle of Skye in a small shack with no running water or electricity. But he often appeared on Tv and in photos. He says he had decided to escape from the city while he was a soldier in the 1960's.
Currently, however, the Guiness World Record holder for the most tattooed man is Skye Lucky Diamond Rich, who is a performance artist. His act includes juggling and sword swallowing. He was acknowledged by Guiness World Records in 2006 for being 100% tattooed.
Skye Lucky, whose name was Gregory Paul Mclaren was born in New Zealand. He was working in a circus when he became interested in tattoos. So he had a small juggling club tattooed on his hip. He went on to have numerous colourful tattoos. When he wasn't satisfied with these, he had his whole bodt tattooed in black ink. And recently he has had white designs tattooed over the black ones."
