Can you check the sentence below

Can someone check the sentence below for grammatical errors, English style, wording, and my writing in general?

The conversation below:

'Are you afraid of failing?'

'No, I'm not.I fail a lot. It's unsettling, but you get used to it. Used to it so much you become oblivious to what it's like to win. So if I did win, I'd... I'd wake up.'

Top answer

You need a space before beginning a new sentence. "Used to it so much …" is a fragment, and not a self-supporting one. "Oblivious" is a wrong word, and even if it was right it would be out of register.

  • The rules for punctuation with the ellipsis are byzantine—I simply treat it like a word in my own writing.
