Can you check on sentence, please?

Here goes:

This guy would never step his foot in the kitchen, but can be fed on bread and salami, without embroidered napkins.

Thank you

p.s. It is about a type of man and it is supposed to be ironic.

This guy would never step foot in the kitchen, (we say he would never step foot in the kitchen, we don't say his foot) the rest of the saying I have not heard before but it looks fine.
