Many offenders commit more crimes after serving the first punishment. Why is this happening, and what measures can be taken to tackle this problem?

It is true that a huge number of convicts indeed reoffend after being punished the first time. My essay below will analyze both the causes and solutions to this pressing concern.

Reoffenders when they are released are caused by several factors. First, most wrongdoers have mental problems that they are not aware of their illegal behavior in society. In this way, when criminals spend most of their time do contact with other inmates in jail, they are easily encouraged to take revenge and commit crimes again. Second, a criminal record makes it harder to get work as people are frequently subject to prejudice and tend to avoid hiring individuals with a criminal background. Consequently, being discriminated against and facing a lot of financial hardships would force them to violate the law such as robbery, theft, and even murder.

There are two solutions to the problem of repeat offenders. First, no sooner do government focus on rehabilitation and increase community service activities than the negative influence on the prisoner in jail tends to decline. Furthermore, it will facilitate prisoners useful in their local communities that would enhance their reintegration into society. The second measure would be the government should ensure that criminals get a chance to receive vocational training such as craft making, catering, and computer programming while in prison. If offenders can stabilize their economic status and make a living for themselves, they are not going to be prone to sin.

In conclusion, there are two main problems caused by when first-time offenders are released committing more crimes and several solutions are suggested to put an end to the situation.
