Can you check my grammar?

I’m a rising junior currently majoring in biochemistry. I'm part of a chemistry research group at X and I worked on my project independently during my sophomore year. I really enjoyed working in a lab and I was able to learn skills that I believe will be helpful in becoming a better reseracher. I’m interested in biomedical research that relates to cancer development and I believe this is a good opportunity for me to gain more insights into that field. I believe that dedication is very critical to be a successful researcher and I consider myself a dedicated, curious and hardworking student.
