Can you check my English translation, please?

I translated a reading in Spanish into English but English isn't also my mother tongue, so I need to check my translation version so that I can study English and Spanish correctly at the same time. All the verbs are in the present tense. Thank you!

A Birthday Party.
Cecilia's parents and siblings plan her party.
Her mum cooks Cecilia's favourite dishes/meal(which one is more proper?) and buys a chocolate cake.
Her father and brothers place/put(which one is more proper?) balloons and a piñata in the room.
Cecilia invites all of her friends/all her friends.
One of them arrives on time for the party.
Paula, who is Cecilia's best friend, lives next door and comes first.
During the party, all of them eat, drink and dance.
Juan Pedro plays the piano and the other friends sing.
While Cecilia opens the gifts that she receives, her father takes photos.
The guests congratulate the birthday girl and toast to her.
