Can you believe that only...

Hi

Could you please tell me if this informally written sentence is acceptable (even in informal writing)? Please see the yellow parts.

Can you believe-and I swear-only two days ago, I realized a fault - of course minor - in his character, and I, I think, didn't handle it nicely.

No question mark. Why?

Can we realize the fault?

I, I think, didn't...(is this construction OK?)

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks, Clive.

Do you find this sentence perfectly natural now?

Can you believe - and I swear - only two days ago, I discovered a flaw, of course minor, in his character, and I (I think) didn't handle it nicely.

My two questions are:

Should I use a question mark or a period in the end?

Can I use inversion: did I

My two questions are:

Should I use a question mark or a period in the end? In theory, yes, although it's a rhetorical question.
