Can you assess my essay please

Missions to explore space are hugely expensive, and there are problems on Earth which demand attention. The number of these missions needs to be reduced.

Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

My answer:

It is widely believed that the recent attempts to broaden our discoveries in terms of our space are costly and beyond our financial capabilities as well as we should redirect these efforts to surmount a number of difficulties on our planet Earth. I partly agree with this statement, as we also ought to find an alternative to Earth off which we can survive.

One commonly cited reason as to why governments and private firms should express a strong preference for protecting our planet Earth is that it is the only resource of our livelihood, which ensures our sustenance. In other words, instead of spending money on exploring our space, we should make more investments on our planet Earth which can guarantee a long-lasting life for people. For instance, we can increase our water resources by purifying a large percentage of water in oceans and seas and make it drinkable. However, this is somehow costly and beyond our financial status as well as unattainable, unless we stop spending money on other less important things like surfing our space.

On the other hand, there are a number of unescapabale challenges that is near to impossible to overcome, so it would require all attentions to be directed to find another alternative to our planet to ensure our longevity. For example, the proportion of water consumption is increasing every day because of overpopulation, which will result in depleting our water resources. Consequently, leads to our extinction.

In conclusion, although I acknowledge that governments should contribute to protecting our natural resources and address hindrances related to overpopulation, we should broaden our horizons and find another planet on which we can survive and extend our offspring.
