Can you all pls help me edit this? wat do u think of this?

Cancer has been one of the most puzzling diseases that have deceived the scientists all over the world for more than a century now. The nature of the disease makes it so complex that it always seen to be a step ahead of the scientists trying hard to find a cure for it. The more we try to know, we end up concluding that our understanding of the disease is less. But in the process it has revealed a lot about the mechanics of life and how exactly life works- by letting us know how genes that regulate the process of cell division, differentiation works, and the deeper we go in understanding the disease the more we learn about the cellular processes. I had heard of cancer before but never had seen it so close, until one day I came to know about the magnitude of cancer after I went to a cancer hospital and was moved by the pitiful state of the patients there who were suffering physically, emotionally and financially. The cost of cancer treatment in developing nations is astronomical and poor people who can’t afford the treatment die suffering the excruciating pain it gives. It had a profound effect on me the very day I made up my mind to be an oncologist and be able to contribute my bit in helping those people suffering from this disease which is soon taking pandemic proportions, and this has been my motivation from that very day and keeps pushing my limits to achieve and perform better to make my dream come true, and from that day I started to read about cancer, its causes and diagnosis available today. The more I read about it the more I understand its multitude of faces and lethality. It is actually a ticking time bomb which is already planted in your body and if you are one of those unlucky person some carcinogen may set it off leaving you and your family in all sorts of trouble.

I am currently pursuing my undergraduate programme in biochemistry, genetics and biotechnology. This course has provided me with a strong foundation of cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, and other prerequisites which your course of cancer genomics and developmental biology demands. Out of my interest and to develop my experimental skills I have done a "advanced diploma course in enzymology and protein chemistry" and have got an "on job training certificate" in the same. I have also completed "part time diploma course in bioinformatics" in the same course I have also completed a project on "role of apolipoprotien-E in reducing the risk of atherosclerosis”. During these projects I have been exposed to group work during which I have learnt good communication and leadership skills important in any research. I also am presenting a paper to upcoming xxxx and my research teams paper has been accepted on antibacterial studies and antidiabetic studies.

To fulfill my quest I knew I had to educate in an institution which would provide me with the required knowledge and cutting edge skills required to be a proficient researcher. I went through your website and learned every detail about your prestigious institution, state of the art teaching and research facilities, your student friendly environment and financial aid for deserving students. I really liked the way you have coupled cancer genomics with developmental biology in your course. I have gone through the programme catalogue thoroughly and it seems to be really challenging, but I understand that such a high level of intellectual competence is a must for any research on cancer for its sheer complexity and why it has become the biggest challenge in the field of medicine today. I strongly believe that to be able to find a cure for cancer all the disciplines of life sciences that is biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, signal transduction, immunology should work hand in hand to tackle a common enemy-cancer, and this happens to be the theme of your research programmes. The course actually looks to be tailor made for me...and I feel that I can contribute to this field by putting in hard work and determination. Scientific research has its origins in a very fundamental human character – inquisitiveness. My interest towards the subject should keep me going in this field. If given a chance to be a part of your institution I shall summon all my credentials and resources and see to it that I justify your decision for selecting me and do my level best to find that illusive cure for cancer, although this is a big statement to make, that is what I have learnt from all great scientific personalities -"DREAM BIG”. My future goals are mainly to continue research and educating people who are affected and their family members of the disease and finding more economical ways of treating it so that the cure is accessible to more number of people in my country and world wide.
