Can we use the structure a/an + adjective + plural noun ?

Today while reading on Wattpad I stumbled upon this : " After looking around for a good five minutes...". So is that correct or not ?

Or can "a" be substituted with another word, without omitting the adjective good ? I'm puzzled, please help!

No. It's correct as is and can't be changed unless you omit 'good'.
