Can we use "by"

Dear teachers
She 's been expected to win a gold medal by many mass media.
Is this sentence correct? I check through internet I can' t find the sentences using " be expected by some people". If we can't use "by", what word should we use? And the last part, can we say "many mass media"?

Anonymous She 's been expected to win a gold medal by many mass media. I would write this: She's been expected to win a gold medal by many in the mass media. Or: Many in the mass media have been expecting her to win a gold medal.
