can we say "He got a car accident."?

I know we can say:
"He had a car accident."

But can we also say:
"He got a car accident."

I know we can use 'have' and 'get' interchangeably in many situations. But what are the exceptions?

Thank you for answering.

Thank you for your question. Come to think of it, there aren't too many situations where 'get' and 'have' can be used interchangeably, except maybe the following sentences?

"He gets high marks whenever he studies hard."
"He has high marks whenever he studies hard."

Or maybe I'm wrong?

Probably I should rephrase my original q
