Metphor, yes, but personification probably not. In personification, you actually treat the inanimate thing as a person. For example: "The sky looked down at me and smiled.", would be more like personification.

Sure,i think this is definitely nice metaphor for the sky,in china ,we always tells ourl kids that the sun seems old man and many metaphor i can not remember exactly at moment,actuall,if we have a good mood in our life ,we will be finding many interesting things in our life,so we are going to love our life and without boring.
