Can the word - 'good' be used here ?

Hi,
For an activity that takes a long time to get completed,can I say 'It takes a good time to complete this work'.In this context,can one use the word 'good' as a substitue for the word - 'long' ?

'It takes a good time,' Why not use this way?
In my opinion, your sentence is correct. However, i seldom if ever hear people say this way.

In some local dialects or in colloquial language you might hear this, or 'a fair time'.

I think here, 'It takes a good time to complete..' is a shortened form of 'It takes a good length of time..'

Not all English dialects use this though. If you want to play it safe, I would say it's better to use 'long' instead of 'good'.
