Can the verb "introduce" have two objects as "give" does?

Hi guys,

I gave Jane a book. = I gave a book to Jane.

Do the followings work?

I introduced Jane to a book. = I introduced a book to Jane. (1)

I introduced a book to Jane. = I introduced Jane a book. (2)
