Can the past tense of "rise" be "rised"

These days I was doing a paper that there is a "rised" on it. My classmate said it was right because he learned about it and the past tense of it is "rised". I wondered and want to know if it is right.

I don't think "rised" is correct, "rose" is more appropriate. rise, rose & risen are what I'm familiar with.

'Rised' is incorrect.

It's correct, but only in certain contexts. Typically it's "rised up," and applies to a rebellion, or a horse.

I'm no expert but it appears 'raise' always applies to an object

whereas 'rise' is more generic.

I just heard a Radio 4 news-reader say "British gas rised their prices six times this year"

It sounds wrong but I suspect it is grammatically correct (but could be wrong)
