Can "someone" refer to more people?

Guy 1: I see someone.

Guy 2: Who?

Guy 1: I see four, no wait, five men at the back entrance.


1) Can "someone" refer to more people? If not, what could be said instead?

2) Is "I see" just as natural as "I can see" in this context?
