Can you imagine how your first date was? Usually a first date is where two individuals meet to socialize with each other and find out if they are compatible for a romantic relationship. Joanna Arcee, first date was out of the ordinary and a dream first date for guys who are into sports. Joanna was eagerly ready to tell me the story of her first date with excitement, it was a chilly day in October where you could sense the winter is coming but the weather was perfect enough to wear a hoodie without getting cold. She was getting ready for her first date with a friend who she had a crush on for a while and she was overjoy when the gentlemen finally asked her to a first date. Ideally people picture on a first date that both individuals will wears a nice warm jacket, a shirt that brings out their personality, and a pair of jeans they love to wear for a night to a romantic dinner. However, Joanna was not getting ready for a romantic dinner but a date to play pickup basketball with the gentlemen. She continues on to the story describing how where they playing the pickup games, “Aggressively like we are playing in the NBA” Joanna says. She had most exciting time playing basketball, so much excitement she didn't notice she broke her own toenail. Blood was everywhere, from the concrete floor of the court to the boot that apparently broke her toenail that the gentleman is wearing. Overall, she says that it was one of her best first date she enjoyed.
Everyone says they are different, from what they wear to their own personality but there are people like Joanna that are unique in their own way. Joanna Arcee a 18 year old freshmen at Norwalk Community College, born at Greenwich Hospital on August 17, 1995 she was the oldest of her 2 half-sister and 1 half-brother for her dad side. Joanna has not picked a major for the time being, she wants to make sure is a very successful career that will make her money and have the passion to come in to work every day .One of her goal for school is not to change careers, smart move for her because most students are quickly to pick their major and end up with a totally different major that will potently take more time and money. What makes Joanna unique is her taste in fashion! One day, you see her women side of fashion, where you see her wear a cut out shoulder top that have the same material as a sweater with an uncommon patterns you will probably see in a Christmas sweater that make the shirt stand out. However, on day where she don’t want to spend her whole morning to dress for school, Joanna likes to dress like a tomboy, she will wear her favorite shirt from her favorite teams, the New York Mets and the New York Yankees to let the world know that she is a women who is passionate about her sports and is not afraid to dress however she wants in a world where most women dress alike. In addition, what else makes Joanna unique is the love of sports she has. She is loyal to her favorite teams and not a woman who will switch her favorite team to a team who just won the champion game. Most guys who loves sports, hates a girl who does switch teams every year just to impress him. The loyalty she gives to her favorite teams does say a lot about her, she is always going to be there for greater or for worst she sticks with you to the end.
A person’s life takes a lot of twist and turn but you have to prepare yourself to work and struggle to get where you want to be. Her life was not easy going during her childhood years, she had split time with her mom who lives in Westport and her dad who live in Upstate New York. The time her parents not being together hurt her at first, imagining the good times they could have as a family but as she grew older in life everything can’t go your way. For one thing, she has find the love and support she needs in life to approach it, her friends. Her friends gave Joanna the motivation she needs to accomplish the goals she set for herself. One of her biggest achievement is graduating high school. Joanna says, “Thanks to my friends I got to walk up onto the stage and receive her high school diploma”. Moreover, when her friends are in need of help she is willing to put her friends first then Joanna later. She will go the extra mile to make her friends happy instead of her own. In ways by giving money to her friends without expecting them to pay her back or she is there when a friend is at the hospital for couple days and she is willing to spend most of her time to keep them company. Life gives you hard time but if you share your life was others your journey will be a great life.
To summarize, Joanna is a very unique women. She has happy where her life is headed and ready for the challenges that lies ahead. She is an individual that stands out from a crowd. First, when I heard the story about her first date, my first impression about her story is very uncommon but she knows what a man loves. Next, she has an exclusive taste when it comes to fashion. She doesn't follow fashion trends but she is a woman who knows how to dress. However, days she feels like not putting the effort to get to dress up, she will wear her favorite team shirt and go on with her day. Finally, life has it up and down for everyone but Joanna way to lift herself is with the power of her friends. Her friends were there when she needed them and she gave more back to them. Everyone is not unique but once you meet Joanna she is a person you are gladly have met.
