Dear -----------, Associate Dean of Student Development and Services, I am appealing my academic suspension because of the difficulty I experienced in completing my course. Last school year was my first year as a student at -----------. I thought that staying away from home and living in a different environment would help me concentrate better and achieve my goal to finish school. But I made a mistake about this decision, being in the surrounding without any familiar places and faces led me to poor performances. The transition from the academic atmosphere of high school in comparison to college was overwhelming, and it caused difficulty for me during the semester.
I realize that my academics have suffered as a result of my difficulty with this transition, but I plan on taking steps to repair my mistakes, and improve my academic standing. The steps I plan to take include: 1. Seeking help from the available campus resources. 2. I will meet with my advisor on a regular basis. 3. I will obtain a tutor for my more difficult classes. 4. I will meet with each of my instructors after classes begin.
My goal is to earn my Associate Art Degree and to continue with a Bachelor of Social Work so that I can make a difference in people's lives in the future. This is very important to me and I would like the opportunity to work in a field in which I can help others avoid the mistakes I have made in the past. Unfortunately, I can only do this if I can apply for -----------. I am a hard-working student and a dedicated person, and I would like the chance to prove to you that my next semester will not be a disappointment. I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter, and I hope you will provide me with the opportunity to continue my education here at the -----------. Thank you again.
Yours sincerely, ----------- Please take this letter into consideration and give me another chance to prove my dedication.
