Winter Break extended Essay
I had an awesome winter break. Every other year for winter vacation, my family and I would go to Big bear where we would go skiing and play in the snow. Since my mom had recent shoulder surgery, we were not able to go because of the risk of injuring it again while skiing. Instead, we went to Palm Springs for five days of the break. Normally, we go to the Rancho Las Palmas hotel in Palm Springs every summer for the forth of July. It is usually so hot there but this time around it was moderate to cold temperature so it was very different. We also had a different variety of activities to do there. When we go to Rancho Las Palmas in the summer time, our activities consist of swimming, going to the movies, going on walks, relaxing somewhere throughout the hotel, or doing the various staff run games there. This year, we still swam and did some of the same things just it was so different. We had our own private family golf session since we have really never played real golf, just miniature golf. It was pretty fun, it is definitely a lot more work than I thought, I was sweating once we were finished! We saw two movies in Palm Springs. We saw TRON: Legacy and Little Fockers. It is very nice to be able to get away with a nice movie, and then to go right back on vacation once it was over. I was a little iffy at first about going to Palm Springs in the Winter instead of Summer, but now I am glad that we went. For the rest of the break, I basically just hung out in Santa Monica, whether I was hanging out with friends, or just having a relaxing day at home with my mom. Also, for my Spanish II class for extra credit we had to write 5 sentences at the end of every day of break in Spanish of what we have done that day. The break felt longer by doing this so I really liked it, since it made it so that the days would not blend together. This was definitely one of the best Winter vacations that I have ever had.
