After taking the two personality questionnaires (links removed), my results were slightly different. The first questionnaire identified my personality type as ENFJ- extroverted, intuitive, feeling and judging. The second questionnaire says that my personality is ENTJ-extroverted, intuitive, feeling and judging. My two strongest personality type are slightly different from both questionnaires. Intuitive trait is in both of my questionnaires results (44% in the first and 64% in the second questionnaire), but, along with intuitive the other personality trait is judging (78%) in the first questionnaire results and thinking (90%) in the second. If I average my personality type questionnaire results, my two strongest preferences are thinking and intuitive. The key characteristics for ENFJ personality type are that they dislike impersonal logic and analysis prefer more creative and imaginative ways of thinking, and they are socially structured and oriented (extremely interested in others) and need approval from others to feel good about themselves. The key characteristics for ENTJ personality type are self-confidence, being incredibly decisive, natural leader, and always thinking of the future (future-oriented).
The characteristics that are associated with the personality type of ENFJ (the first of the two different personality types I received from the assigned questionnaires) are being loyal and honest, enjoy variety as well as new challenges, and get personal satisfaction from helping others. They are extremely benevolent and seek total pleasure in helping others whenever they can. They are constantly recognized as global leaders because they better understand the world and situations and often see themselves as helpers and enablers. They tend to neglect themselves and their own needs for the needs of others. ENFJs are very sensitive and are at high risk of being hurt by others. They even tend to take other people's burdens on their account. The traits that are the least applicable to me are the sensitivity to criticism and being unbelievably helpful. I do not easily get my feelings hurt and I often appreciate constructive criticism that can be considered painful. The judgments and views of others do not affect me as it would for an individual who has an ENFJ personality type. In my opinion, it's not something to worry about or get hurt from, mainly because I think independently. I do enjoy helping others, but not to extent that it is affecting my own personal needs. I would never consistently disregard my own duties and needs for others. The characteristics that are associated with the personality type of ENTJ (the second personality type I received from the assigned questionnaires) are the following: being natural born, charismatic leaders, decisive, and self-confident. People who possess this personality type are said to have high value for knowledge, more driven to turn theories into plans and want things structured and orderly. The personality type also posses the attribute of being future-oriented, which helps them clearly identify problems and innovative solutions for the present or future. People whose personality is ENTJ have strong desire to be leaders and terribly dislike being followers, are self-confident, decisive, are excellent verbal communicators, find themselves impatient with inefficiency and incompetence and easily become viciously argumentative. The traits that are the least applicable to me are the need and desire to be in charge, being charismatic leader and being argumentative. I prefer being the individuals who work in the sideline (behind the shadows) to being the one who is taking control of a group and bossing others. I could never be a charismatic leader, or a leader of that matter, because I lack charisma and the ability easily get people on my side. Also, I am not a great arguer because I lack the strong persuasive skills to influence another to believe my opinion. I feel that the Myers-Brigg assessment only reflect a partial amount of my personality type. As an ENFJ personality type, I do enjoy helping others, seek new challenges and I am loyal and honest. As an ENTJ personality type, I am very future-orientated because I think more about what I want to do or be in 15 years than now in the present. I always want things structured and orderly whenever possible and I have a lot of patience, for example waiting for a price check at Winners.
The knowledge gained through the Myers-Brigg will definitely help and can be put to use in my life now. My personality can help me understand myself and recognize my strengths and weaknesses. It is very important for me to be conscious of my personality because it can help me comprehend why I act as I do and if there are any unconscious motives or external/internal factors that influence them that I am unaware of. It will demonstrate to me how I make critical decisions, socialize and knowing my personality will allow me to improve myself as an entire being. By understanding my personality I can look for and purse careers/jobs, in the near or far future, that are suitable based on my strongest traits and my specific personality type. I can adapt and/or improve on any personality traits that correspond to my personality type whenever needed.
