Mr. John Flanagan,
Before I read your series "The Ranger's Apprentice," I was like everyone else around me, a typical elementary schooler. I chose to read your series because I received the first book,"The Ruins of Gorlan," as a gift and because it looked like something that would capture my attention and make me want to read everywhere. After reading your series, I improved by remembering, understanding, and following some of Halt's sayings, and, thanks to the Rangers, I found an interest in archery, which I am getting better at. What helped me the most in your books was Halt's inspirational sayings and actions, which gave me a role model. Also, when I feel like I need to hold back my anger in case of bad consequences, I imagine Halt and what he would do in my place. Will's reactions to unexpected problems also helped me think through my situation a little more and make the best of it. Your series changed me by encouraging me to be more organized, caring, selfless, and witty in a polite way. I am really glad that I read "The Ranger's Apprentice" because it gave me knowledge of how to handle problems similar to the Rangers' problems.
Sincerely,
