Can someone please check my grammar

My son received a "D" in the second grading period. This was the first time he received a "D" since freshman. Is there anything he could do to make up his grade? We, as parents are worried about it that it may affect his graduation and going to college/university. I was wondering if we could make an appointment with you to discuss his grade.
