I have a dream that we can live in a world where no one is hungry, where diseases don’t exist, and where people can live in peace so everyone can be happy and be civilized. A world like this is close to a utopia. The modern world is more advanced than ever before, yet the world is still held behind by some major issues that need solving.
World hunger is a major problem in society and affects countries that people really don’t think about. Every four seconds one person dies of hunger-related causes, which is over seven million people a year. What is also sad about this is that we don’t realize that most of these deaths were children. The reason this happens is that these people are in poor areas of the world. People in these areas die from malnutrition, diseases, improper sanitation, genocide, and war. Hunger is prevalent because these people live in poverty. People are poor because of a mixture of war, corrupt government, and food prices. This results in many people becoming hungry and dying. We could fix hunger by ending all the wars we can with peace, giving people their rights and stop wasting resources, and finally create more jobs so we can stop unemployment and increase income.
War is one of the biggest problems in the modern world. The reasons for this is that people get hurt, increases poverty, wastes resources, and creates prejudice among people. This is an embarrassment for everyone that lives in a civilized society because no matter how far we as a society have come to get where we are now we still have primitive actions haunting us. We could all solve war with peace if countries acted in consistent manners to stop it. War is not an outbreak of disease. War is not an earthquake. War is not a tornado. War is our creation created from human choices. War could end in an hour all because 5 people decided to end it. We as people need to think more rationally.
Disease is a major problem to the world as it poses a serious threat to the overall health of the general population. Over fifty-five million people die a year with thirty-six million of those deaths being from noncommunicable diseases alone. A lot of countries do not have access to proper or any type of health care system. Communicable diseases can be spread and spread fast too this is a major threat because without proper healthcare or any healthcare systems to control a disease outbreak just a single disease strand can be on every continent. We need to build more health care facilities in these poor countries to control communicable and noncommunicable diseases.
A world where people do not starve, that don’t have war, and have proper healthcare is a world where basically no conflict exists. These problems although major can be solved. With these problems solved we can advance as a society and come one step closer to being a utopia.
