Can someone here give me 1-on-1 classes in Etymology?

Hi guys! I recently decided to dabble in the etymology of words and I think someone with a robust knowledge of the subject would be of great help. So I just wanted to ask here if anyone would be willing to offer me some online classes for a price that suits us both. Please feel free to send me a direct message or comment in the thread here so that I can message you. I'd really appreciate the help! Thank you and a very merry Christmas to you all! Emotion: smile

I can suggest an author to read on the subject: John McWhorter. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed The Power of Babel: A Natural History of Language . It discusses many different languages, their histories, relationships, and how they evolve.

  • If you want to focus on English, he has a later book: Our Magnificent ******* Tongue: The Untold History of English .
  • I haven't read it, but would not hesitate to recommend the author.
