Can someone help me write a retirement invitation

I was asked at work to organize a lunch for a coworker who is retiring soon. Also to ask my coworkers if they want to contribute some money for a gift. I do not know how to start my e-mail. Can someone please proofread my short paragraph?

As you all know, Jane is leaving us soon to enjoy her retirement. We are going to have a farewell lunch for Jane on June 18th. We can either have a potluck or order some food and will just share the cost of food. In addition, everyone is welcome to contribute some money to buy a gift for Jane. Please share your thoughts and ideas about the farewell lunch and gifts. Thank you.
