Can someone help me with this question?

I'm trying to say I wrote a story, so will it be

"I wrote a story before" or "I've written a story before."

In order to state very generally that you have already had a certain type of experience in your life, it would normally be best to use the present perfect: "I've written a story before." This simply states that at some unspecified time before now, I have written a story.
