It has been said, "Not everything that is learned is contained in books." Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?
Given the choice between knowledge gained from experience or gained from books, which one is more important to me? It is thought that the answer is the latter. However, I think that learning from the experience is more important than in the books. My reasons are presented as followed :
First of all, it is the practical experience that can lead us from recondite knowledge in the books to real world. For example, I majored in respiratory therapy, and in the beginning, the medical knowledge I got was usually from the text books and the teacher's lecture. That time, although I got high scores in the school's examination, I didn't know how to give the most efficient therapy to the patients until I had the internship opportunity to attend to the real patient in the hospital.
What’s more, it is the precious experience that can broaden our eyes to explore the real world. For instance, in the past, I always took my leisure time reading the books, introducing the famous sceneries in the world, and I am satisfied that without going outside, I can easily see the world’s famous sceneries in the books. However, Until I got the chance to traveling to California, I could really experience the local culture as well as breathtaking landscapes. Only take the trip to adventure, can we feel the sweat is vaporized by the breeze and sunshine.
Most important, it is the accumulated experience that can improve our communication skills which is not easily learned from the books. Although I read a lot of books about communication, which teaching me how to talk like Obama. Nevertheless, when I give the speech to the crowed, I still nervous and stammer. As a result, I have to practice more to accumulate experience while giving the speech.
To sum up, knowledge gained from the experience is more important to me for several reasons, among them lead us from recondite knowledge in the books, broadening our eyes, improving our communication skills.
