Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to apply for the position of Finance Graduate as part of the Graduate Scheme 2018/2019, which is currently being advertised on the XYZ website. I’ve uploaded my CV to my application for your consideration. I’ve recently graduated from the University of ABC with a 2:1 in BSc Economics, and I believe the skill set I’ve developed would make me an asset to the company.
I would like to work for XYZ because of the supportive, community-focused culture that the company aims to provide. I believe these values are aligned with my own. Whilst studying for my A-levels, I volunteered for a local cancer charity, helping to raise donations by working in one of their shops. I’ve tried to help the community I live in by volunteering at my local cricket ground, ensuring all customers were quickly admitted into the ground. These activities instilled a strong believe in me that, where possible, we should all aim to support our local community.
I believe I’m the right person for this role because of the qualities I’ve developed throughout my academic and extracurricular experiences. I’ve gained strong communication skills whilst I was on the committee of the Investment Society, where I regularly communicated with the society’s members to resolve any issues or to promote events. This position helped me to develop the organisational skills that I need to succeed in this role, as one of my key responsibilities was to help organise events that the society held. I’m an ambitious person that strives to improve with every goal I pursue. I’ve demonstrated my academic ambition whilst at university, where I undertook an extra module in Spanish to try and learn new skills.
Outside of academia, I was part of a student-run investment fund. Whilst I was part of this fund, I competed as part of a small team against other teams to see who could make the most profit on a starting capital of £10,000. This experience enhanced my ambition as the team as I was part of managed to win. I developed a sense of social meaning whilst part of this fund, as the profits we made were donated towards funding bursaries for less fortunate students.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my application. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
