Can someone explain to me the meaning of the sentence below?

So the Saturday night screening would have been exciting anyway but it was made even more so by a strangely apt journey there.

What does it mean by "a strangely apt journey there"? I don't understand how "apt" is used in this sentence

Top answer

It means "fitting" or "appropriate". I infer that along the journey something exciting happened that was also seen in the screening, or perhaps something similar to the film's theme.
