Can someone edit my short essay for me please?

Although I agree with Rachel’s Mitchell’s claim that the idea of genetically modified organisms is not new, I believe the purpose for genetic manipulation today is not the same as it has been in the last 50,000 years. As genetic engineering becomes more complex and promising, the beneficial outcomes have made some humans use it for the wrong reasons. In particular, the rise of human genetic engineering about creating ‘designer’ babies has raise questions on whether it is considered ‘natural’ or ‘unnatural.’ Even though this idea disrupts Darwin’s natural selection concept, I believe having designed children would be acceptable as long as humans are using it for the right reasons.
For billions of years, evolution has given a diverse life on Earth today. Particularly, one of the ways human race has evolved is through mutations. For example, mutations could be beneficial to produce more hemoglobin-carrying blood cells for a human who lives in high altitudes (Freeman 2014). On the other hand, mutations could be detrimental, causing a human to have Down Syndrome, or sickle cell anemia, etc. For evolution to occur, the beneficial mutations can be adaptive and can be spread by natural selection.
In regards to evolution, I think humans are ignoring a natural process that has been going on for millions of years when discussing about producing ‘designer’ babies. Unfortunately, the use for genetically modified children concerns possible uses of manipulating genes to create desired traits of a child such as gender, hair color, intelligence, athletic ability, etc. (Green 2007). However, there are some exceptions that I do believe that ‘designer’ babies could be considered ‘natural.’ This technique could pick genes that can make human offspring eradicate genetic abnormalities and improve immune resistance (Green 2007). For example, scientists in China have created genetically modified embryos to prevent a life-threatening blood disorder called beta-thalassemia (Cryanoski and Reardon 2015). In my opinion, I am not fully against for ‘designer’ babies. I think it is natural for parents to do everything they can to have a healthy baby and if that means doing it this way, then it would be acceptable. However, when parents start picking out physical features, then that is where I would consider it unethical.
