Grammar

Can someone correct my grammar please

hi

I am correcting a manual and I am confused with "must" and "should"

Which one is correct?

It must match the length requirements defined in the product setting login/min_password_length and must be different from the previous/default one.

or

It should match the length requirements defined in the product setting login/min_password_length and should be different from the previous/default one.

Thanks

It must = It is required. It won't work if you don't do this. It should = It is recommended.

  • It must = It is required.
  • It won't work if you don't do this.
  • It should = It is recommended.
  • It will work if you don't, but we suggest you do.

Grammatically, both are correct.

They don't have the same meaning.

Which meaning do you need? Is it required or is it suggested?
