Dear Madam/Sir:

I am Chris Wong. Recently, Animal rights is become more concerns in the society and I was also found that my neighbors was treating their pets badly. So, I was writing a letter to the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals showing my concern, I hope that those of my suggestions which can improve the situations.

I think the biggest problem is the pet owners lost their responsibilities. One of my examples is about my neighbor. The family bought a baby dog half year ago. I think they are so treasure the baby dog in the first month. However, as my observation gradually, the baby dog lives alone always and I heard the baby dog barking loudly at home recently. Sometimes, I saw that the dog was put alone in the corridor by the family and its mouth is covered by the sticker. That is so pity when I have eye contact with the baby dog. Surprisingly, they said that the behavior is good for the baby dog because of its naughty. How angry I was when I heard their reply!

As my neighbor shameful behavior, there are some of my opinions about what could be done to ensure the welfare of the pets and the reasons why those are urgent.

In my views, the solution of the problem is not only the Government, but also the pet owners. The education to the public is not enough. It is important to strength the promotion of the Government. For instant, advertising on television or posting some posters in some public areas. The pet owners can be awaken by the advertising because of those are about how to be a responsibility pet owners. The advertising can put some slogans like "think twice before you become pet owners" and make it more colorful. So, it becomes very attractive to the publics. Also, it can hold some exhibitions or talks about how to take care of pets regularly. Let all the pet owners know how to provide a good method to the pets in the right ways.

Besides, most of the parks can't take the pet inside in Hong Kong. I think the Government can built up more pet's parks or bound some areas in the original park. Also, the pet owners can join some playing groups with the pets. Because it can strength the relationship between the pet owners and the pets when they spend more times to their pets.

Some research showed that there is an increasing line on the abandonment of the pets recently. As a result, the points which I have mentioned above are urgently to implement. There is an sentence. "The best friend of people is pet in the world". The rights to live are also applied to the pets. Pet owners should give the best care to them. Just as a mother take care to their baby. It is importance to know that respect is needed between people and pets.
