KATANA : JAPANESE MODERN MAILBOX
Japan is one of the countries that have a lot of mailbox user more than you can imagine in the world. The fact is Japanese love to decorate their home entrance with design mailboxes, I just realized that mailbox isn’t just a mailbox, it can become an art or cool architecture if you can make it good enough in design.
Now I’m completely obsessed with observing mailbox around, I mean all the places I’ve been to in Japan. It's very funny to see many design of mailboxes
here.
But one thing I’ve noticed after working many years in Japan is there are not many good looking stand-alone mailboxes here. After doing some research I found that not only in Japan, there are not many good looking stand-alone mailboxes in the entire world. So I decided to create one!
I want to make modern mailbox that come with a great durability, fine workmanship, and absolutely this thing has to come with something Japanese and must be new either!
When I thought that Katana came into my mind. One of Japan symbols which has all of features that I want to put into my mailbox.
So I decided to use Katana as the concept for developing this mailbox.
And then Mr.xxxxx xxxxxx, a young famous product designer from Thailand came to take part in this project.
After months of development we got this!
A mailbox with stainless mirror tray inside like Katana in its sheath.
The way you draw out a tray, same as the way you draw Katana out.
The body is also designed to be look like Katana point shape from side view.
In front, we attached flapping door to mail slot for water proof purpose.
And we make it lockable by attaching locking system to the tray part.
We think mailbox have to be secure these days.
Katana is precision fabricated from the highest quality stainless steel both of body and tray. We use hairline finish stainless for the body, and use mirror finish stainless for the tray. The color part of the body is wrapped by outdoor grade 3M film, so don’t worry about color fading even in bad environments.
The Katana size is 285 x 185 x 492mm,
and weight is 4.xx kg
We can guarantee that every detail of this mailbox is neat, very tough,
no rust and 100% water proof.
*Pole is also made of stainless steel
