For subjunctive + as if, is it

He talked as if he had known her

or

He talks as if he had known her

Hi,
I prefer to use speak rather than talk in that kind of context.

He spoke as if he had known her. -- Good.

He speaks as if he had known her. -- No. He speaks as if he knew her.

He speaks as if he knows her is also grammatically correct, by the way.

Note that strict grammar rules do not really apply to that structure.
