In today’s society, Internet has become one of the most popular sources for entertainment, educational purposes, checking e-mails, communication and much more. Internet allows users to easily access information about any topic, anywhere, at any time. What we don’t know is that majority of the internet users are children, even though there are many fun activities that these children can visit, there is still a chance that these web sites can expose inappropriate images and videos that children are not allowed to see or learn. That is why many parents and teachers are concern on whether the content on the internet is appropriate for children or not. To prevent this from happening there are three websites that they can visit without parents being concerned one is on Mathematics, second is Science, and finally Computer and Technology. Parent should allow their children to visit these three educational sites because it’s safe, there is a lot of hands on activities, and it is appropriate for all age level.
To begin with, Math is a wonderful subject. For some it’s fun and for other it can get a little boring. In this case, CoolMath.com is a website where children of all ages can learn and have fun at the same time without bored at all. CoolMath.com is devoted to helping children who are struggling with math and to help them be able to learn with ease and flexibility. The site itself is very up to date and is accurate with all the material that is required to learn in each grade level. There are many hands on activities that this site is fully interactive and allows the users to sharpen basic math skill, play math related games and explore new math concept. Children can click on the link of their choice, such as pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, math dictionary, and much more. The link will open up to a new page where children can pick what kind of math they want to learn. For example: fraction, exponents, percents, decimals, etc. Let’s say if they picked fraction, the page will open up to a list of categories where they can choose any topic they wants like definition, how to solve it, how to add, or subtract mixed fraction. The site is pretty much well laid out that even four to five years old can easily use it. CoolMath.com is basically a learning website and because this site is all about learning math in a fun way, children will love it because it has many educational games that when the children are playing it, they feel as though they are just playing a game without thinking that math is involved even though there is a lot of math being involved. In other word, these sites are design for children that are in pre-school, elementary and middle school yet, it feels like it’s for every one of all ages. The site is very colorful and is filled with numbers, even on the cursor, if you move the cursor to the right the number will move to right. CoolMath.com is known as an amusement park of math that is designed for fun. The site is created by Karen who is also the President, Chief Executive Officer of CoolMath.com. She has a B.A. and M.S. in Mathematics and had a fourteen year, full-time teaching experience at a community college. CoolMath.com is a good way to educate children, making math fun and not boring, and also help children to be better in math when they enter high school.
