This bachelor thesis is focused on the question of the competitiveness of companies in the brewing industry. The main objective is to analyze the competitive environment of two different breweries and evaluate, which factors have a significant influence on their activity, and find out, if these effects vary according to differences of the selected breweries. Then there is a proposal to improve the situation of companies based on obtained results. For the purpose of the bachelor thesis was chosen Pivovar Svijany a.s. and brewery Krakonoš spol. s.r.o. in Trutnov. The theoretical part is mainly based on literature review and it deals with the definition of competitiveness, competition and competitive advantage. It also describes the suitable analysis of the macro environment, micro environment and internal environment and it also describes the various competitive strategies. In the practical part, the author focuses on the development of beer production and characterization of selected breweries. The main part contains PESTLE analysis, five forces analysis and SWOT analysis. These analyzes are subsequently evaluated in context with the position of breweries. In conclusion, the author submitted a proposal to improve the competitive situation of the Pivovar Svijany a.s. and Krakonoš spol. s r.o.
