Can some one check sentences in bold please

while I was saying this people were interrupting me with stupid  question like "but what does it do" or "did you make it yourself" followed by every one at the fair laughing as if the guy had told them a joke!I stretched my hands forward, trembling,nervous as hell switched the button and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! I got zaped hard. Every one's reaction:BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!The people or people in the first sentence?Thanks

Haha unfortunately yes at a local science fair I made an *** out of my self a few years ago.

At a local science fair When my Tesla coil that I tested several time at home gave me an electric shock in front of 100's of people. To make matters worse the insensitive ******** kept laughing the whole time..... even BEFORE I got shocked!

I was on stage with mic in my hand, nervous as ****. I said while breathing hard "Who wants t.t.t.tu to see ma ma ma my tesla co co co coil's... bolts of lightning?" While I was saying this people were interrupting me with stupid questions like "but what does it do?" or "did you make it yourself?" followed by every one at the fair laughing as if the guy had told them a joke! I stretched my hands forward, trembling,nervous as **** switched the button and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! I got zaped hard. Every one's reaction:BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

A dramatic failure and a heart breaking disappointment.

Why didn't we use "THE people were" as we are talking about a specific group of people that is the people that were there in the science fair?

Another question: I was on stage or on THE stage? is "on stage" a fixed phrase?

Also : "I was at A local science fair " A is correct here because the readers do not know What science fair I am talking about, right?
