Dear Sir!
I am applying for PHD student - <PHD program name> -<City>. Currently, I am master student at <university name>. I have unofficially started my Master thesis <thesis name> at chair of <chair name>. It is planed the thesis to be finished in October. So, In October I want to start immediately PHD studies related with artificial intelligence and/or machine learning techniques in data.
I finished my bachelor studies(240ECTS) in computer science with specialization in software engineering in top 2% of the students with GPA 9.85/10. Working in software projects I have gained knowledge in software engineering in a level, that I can develop industrial software projects. Most of the software that I have developed during my bachelor studies are web application coded in .NET using C#.
To achieve these results in my bachelor studies were not just because intelligence, hard work, communication, team/ individual work, but also helped my previous background. When I started my bachelor studies I have already participated in more than 50 (regional, national and international)math competition. In 90% of the competition I was in the top 3. My love in competitions continued during my studies. I started to compete in algorithms (topoder) and being tutor for preparing high and primary school students for (regional, national & international) math competition.
I like doing research and implementing it in real problems. During my bachelor studies I joined Cloud computing research group in my home country, <homconrtyName>. After 6 months work came a result, I published my first research paper "<paper name>". I finished my bachelor studies with thesis " thesis name". In this theses I implemented algorithms for text mining and finding similar news. With this we wanted to see how news portal write similar texts. During my bachelor studies two projects were chosen to be presented in the conference in the student session. These project were related with database and requirement engineering.
My master thesis is related to <topic name> and its implementation in <specific field>. I will do the thesis in the chair of <chairName> (<profName>) at <UniversityName>. During my master studies I chose projects and courses (around 100 ECTS) related with machine learning, data mining and software engineering and I have as minor Algorithms (around 18ECTS). During master studies I have improved my research skills in data mining and data processing and also I have improved my software (web)development skills in Java.
I am looking for a PHD thesis which integrates my experiences and I can put all my potential in it. As a person with self confidence, academic achievements, honours and implemented successful projects as individual or part of a team I think that I can be one of the most successful members in the company.
