My name is *** and I am a 4th year student of the Faculty of Cybernetics. My specialty is "Automatic Control Systems." Its mean creating hardware and software solutions for the automating processes of the various mechanisms on large factories and enterprises. In view of the fact that there are not many plants in our time, there is tension with the work in the specialty. Therefore, the majority of graduates associate themselves with software development - it is very close to the specialty’s scope and most importantly its extremely high hiring demand, that's why the 21st century is called the “IT century”. This trend has not spared me. My scientific and professional activities related to programming, but within the scientific activities, I chose more closed occupation to my specialty – its robotics. Correct to say that robotics - a new stage of its evolution. Now I have two projects in the framework of this occupation. First, I am a member of the robotics club in Technopark. We have repeatedly participated in various competitions and had success in them. Our biggest achievement is 2nd place in National competitions. So now our team once again preparing for a trip to Moscow. The second project, in which I participate with my friend, is the installation of telemetry for running, which facilitates the student’s health monitoring. With this development, we have participated in exhibitions and festivals; we have two articles in all-Russian collections. The best part is that this system will be used at the Faculty of Physical Education since the spring. In addition to robotics we plan to make a presentation on the "Wiener readings" - the annual scientific conference held by our faculty. The topic is "Office Automation on the East Siberian Aero-geodesic Enterprise". This topic is based on the project, which I have worked on. Feature of the IT-sphere is their constant and quick update. You should never stop your studying to have your knowledge relevant. And this is not possible without English language knowledge. This is primarily due to the fact that the main engine of IT-industry development is the U.S., where the official language is English. And programmer’s International language is also English. As a result, comments to the code, documentation, descriptions and more are written in English. Therefore, if you want to develop, get relevant knowledge and the latest information, you must to study language. At work, university and scientific activity I constantly have to go into the various English-language sources. If you have a question you’ll turn to the English-speaking forums, if you need to learn what or technology you’ll turn to the English documentation. And when you programming you’ll constantly to resort to such resources, for example, I have to do that every day at my work. In summary I can say that the English language knowledge in my specialty is essential. It’s impossible to become really good specialist without it. And this situation will always relevant.
