Can "none of which" be followed by a noun, as in "none of which options [...] were"?

Can "none of which" be followed by a noun, as in "none of which OPTIONS were [...]"?

I wrote this in a text, and someone pointed out that it was incomprehensible and that I shouldn't put "options" after "which". Here is the whole sentence:

"The customers at the table next to ours, served by a different waiter, were presented with a tray of different steak cuts and were offered either bottled or tap water, none of which options were presented to us."

I don't understand, if this is a mistake. If anyone could explain it to me, that'd be great.

Thanks in advance.

Anonymous I wrote this in a text, and someone pointed out that it was incomprehensible and that I shouldn't put "options" after "which". I would have to agree with "someone". It doesn't look right to me.

  • I would just say "none of which was presented/offered to us".
  • Or: "None of these options was presented to us".

The structure is grammatical, but as it is rarely used it probably sounds quite odd to native ears. The relative which can be followed by a noun, in which case British and American grammarians probably don't call which a relative pronoun at all.
