Can intact be used before noun?

I have read that intact does not come before noun, however, today when I was reading a passage from IELTs test I found intact moss, it is interesting that the answer for gap fill was intact so it could not be accidental. If it is incorrect ,why they have used it in ielts test?if not what the hell oxford and longman dictionaries talk about? thanks for your guidance.
