Can I write this?

Can I write this? Is it perfectly ok?

Donna sat up in the couch and clutched her head, hungover.

Top answer

I would say "sat up on the couch". "hungover" looks wrong to me personally. Instinctively I feel that it should be written as two words ("hung over"), or hyphenated (especially if used attributively), but "hungover" seems to be quite widely used.
